A little bit about me:
- Who the heck do you think you are?
- MuseAphelion, formerly of the House of Muse. I love to talk, write, draw, paint, preach, sing, dance, and generally enjoy life.
What do you do when you aren't playing here?
- Freelance graphic artist/photographer. I also am a barista at a bookstore. I love to read and write, I love to find novel solutions to problems. I aspire to be both a Renaissance woman and a Lady MacGuyver.
-
- Who do you work for?
- My current focus is on musicians in the Chicago area. I work closely with several local unsigned artists to promote their work. I've designed artwork for albums, web sites, and promotional materials. I've also done web design for several small businesses.
- What's with the screen name?
- Muse, in one form or another, has been my screen name since my AOL days before I learned what the internet was like when you took the training wheels off. The second part, Aphelion, is an astronomical term for the point in the orbit of a satellite when it is the furthest away from its star. In other words, things are as bad as they can get but can only get better from here. It's my backwards optimism.
- The World Was Once What?
- Flat, as the title describes. The idea is that as our perceptions of the world around us change, the world itself changes. We have moved in a very short amount of time, from the idea that we live on a vast plane at the heart of existence, to a small island in a vast universe.
